Již název této práce naznačuje, že je zaměřena na bezpečnost v systému Windows XP z hlediska pracovní stanice. Některé informace uvedené na následujících stranách této práce mohou být sice použitelné i pro ty z vás, kteří provozujete systémy Windows 98 nebo Windows ME, avšak většina doporučení vychází z funkcí, které jsou součástí pouze systému Windows XP a jejich předchůdce, Windows 2000. Jelikož byly oba tyto operační systémy od samého začátku navrhovány i s ohledem na bezpečnost, vlastnosti jako systém souborů NTFS, zabudované šifrování a podpora více uživatelů zde hrají přímo klíčovou roli. Dnes je již v prodeji systém Windows Vista, který jsem ještě netestoval, nicméně předpokládám, že mnoho informací zde uvedených lze zužitkovat i v provozu Windows Vista. Taktéž zde najdete rady a informace týkající se antivirových programů, firewallů a útoků ze sítě Internet. |

As the name says for itself, this document is mainly aimed on the security of the Windows XP operating system from workstation point of view. Some of the information on the following pages might be useful for users of Windows 98 or Windows Millenium as well, but most of the recommendations comes from the functions, which are part of Windows XP and its predecessor Windows 2000 only. Because both of these operating systems were also designed with regards to security, the features like NTFS file system, built-in encrypting and multiple user support are playing the key role here. I haven't had a chance to test Microsoft's latest release - the Windows Vista - yet, but I suppose that most of the information from this document could be applied on it as well. This document also includes tips or information about antivirus software, firewalls and threats from Internet. |
