dc.description.abstract	Bakalářská práce se zabývá poskytováním paliativní péče geriatrickým pacientům s demencí. Je zpracována metodou narativní přehledové studie. Odborné dokumenty byly vyhledány pomocí systematické rešeršní strategie v elektronických databázích ProQuest Central, EBSCO, Wiley Online Library a PubMed. Z analyzovaných studií vyplývá, že zahájení paliativní péče u osob s demencí bývá často iniciováno až v pokročilém nebo terminálním stadiu onemocnění. Významnou roli při poskytování této péče hraje všeobecná sestra, která se podílí na kontinuální monitoraci potřeb nemocného, zmírňování symptomů, na podpoře komunikace s rodinou a koordinaci multidisciplinární péče. Závěry práce poukazují na potřebu včasného zahájení paliativní péče u geriatrických pacientů s demencí a posílení role všeobecných sester v tomto procesu.

dc.description.abstract-translated	The bachelor thesis focuses on the provision of palliative care to geriatric patients with dementia. The thesis was conducted using a narrative review method. Published scientific papers were identified through a systematic search strategy in electronic databases such as ProQuest Central, EBSCO, Wiley Online Library, and PubMed. The analysis of the studies reveals that the initiation of palliative care for individuals with dementia often occurs only in the advanced or terminal stage of the disease. General nurses play a significant role in providing this care, participating in the continuous monitoring of patients' needs, symptom management, supporting communication with family members, and coordinating multidisciplinary care. The findings of the thesis highlight the need for early initiation of palliative care in geriatric patients with dementia and the strengthening of the role of general nurses in this process.
