Tissue loss or dysfunction has a significant impact on the quality of one's life. Despite advanced medical technologies, transplantation remains the most common way to replace such damaged tissue. However, transplantation comes with numerous drawbacks. Therefore, different types of alginate-based hydrogels, also in combination with gelatin, have been fabricated and their biological and material properties were characterized in the thesis. The characterization included cytotoxicity tests, proliferation assays, and assessment of viscoelastic properties, aiming to demonstrate that the material possesses properties suitable for the production of tissue scaffolds for soft tissues. |
