The aim of the thesis is a deeper understanding of the issue of Hallux Valgus deformity and its impact on the physical and mental health of individuals, especially women. On the basis of analyzes of available information, studies and personal consultations with a physiotherapist, it defines its stages from the cause of its occurrence to the consequences that are directly associated with it. A significant space belongs to considerations about the category of beautiful in connection with deformity and its subjective perception. The work confronts cultural stereotypes with a professional health point of view, asking questions about the relationship between aesthetics, functionality and health in footwear. It is looking for a way of consensual solution to the problem through the individual lens of the author, projected into the whole social context. In the practical part, he tries to apply the findings from the theoretical part to the author's collection of shoes and accessories. He uses these in the development of the most suitable prototype of footwear, taking into account the individual dispositions. At the same time, it has the ambition to inform a wider circle of the public about the existence of deformity, about the possibility of prevention or treatment using optimal, aesthetically acceptable footwear. |
