dc.description.abstract	Tato bakalářská práce popisuje původ vesmírných závodů a zabývá se vybranými událostmi vesmírných závodů, které autor vybral z mnoha jako nejdůležitější. Mezi diskutovanými událostmi jsou např. první umělé družice, první lidé ve vesmíru, apod. Práce se zaměřuje na sociokulturní dopady vesmírných závodů na Američany a Rusy v té době, porovnává je a také poskytuje některá historická fakta, které obeznámí čtenáře s daným tématem. Cílem je nejen popsat události obecně, ale určit, jak byly ovlivněny zmíněné národy. Hlavním cílem je zjistit, která země byla více ovlivněna vesmírnými závody.

dc.description.abstract-translated	The bachelor thesis describes the origins and deals with selected events of the Space Race, which the author has chosen from many others as the most influential. Among events discussed are for example launching of the first artificial satellites, first men in space, etc. The thesis focuses on the sociocultural effects of the Space Race on Americans and Russians during that time, compares them and also provides some historical facts to acquaint readers with the topic. Its aim is not only to describe the events in general but to see what effects had the Space Race on the two nations mentioned. Its main goal is to find out which of the countries was more influenced by the Space Race.
