dc.description.abstract |
An inteview with Thomas J. Bata, footwear magnate, shoe tester, and Companion of the Order of Canada, is presented. He says women are women, and thank God they are. They love shoes because they have taste, like to look at nice things and have ambition to stand out. Men are getting that way, too, especially the younger ones. But if Bata sits next to a lady on an airplane, she will find out what he does in due course and tell him where she has bought shoes, where she has found the best and where she plans to look for more. The smarter the lady, the faster the voyage. Bata is very, very grateful to be in a business where consumers are constantly looking for something new and something better. |
