Management Villas by Vladimír Karfík, Residence of Čipera and Malota

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se věnuje Ředitelským vilám ve Zlíně, tedy málo známé části díla významného českého architekta Vladimíra Karfíka. Vily se vymykají jeho běžné tvorbě a nezapadají ani do kontextu tradiční zlínské zástavby. Je to dáno převážně jejich stylem. Ten si určili sami stavebníci, což byli nejdůležitější představitelé firmy Baťa. Dominik Čipera chtěl rezidenci v anglickém stylu, Josef Hlavnička ve stylu koloniálním, František Malota toužil po vile vzhledu porýnsko předhitlerovském a Hugo Vavrečkovi se zamlouval styl Jana Kotěry. Přes tuto vnější stylovou odlišnost, mají vily mnoho společných znaků. Práce je detailněji zaměřena pouze na dvě stavby, Čiperovu a Malotovu vilu, které se bude snažit popsat a analyzovat

This bachelor thesis is dealing with the problem of Management Villas in Zlín. It is not very well known part of the work of the great Czech architect Vladimír Karfík. Neither they are a typical example of Karfik's work nor do they resemble any other building in the city of Zlín. It is mostly because of their style. The style of villas was determined by proprietors themselves. They were the top managers of Bata Company. Dominik Čipera chose a style of an English country house for his residence. Josef Hlavnička liked colonial style, František Malota wanted the pre-Hitler Rhineland style and Hugo Vavrečka fancied a villa in the Kotěra style. Even though there were the huge style differences Management Villas share many formal architectonic signs. This Bachelor thesis focuses just on Čipera's and Malota's villas in detail. These two residences will be described and analyzed
