Funkcionalistická architektura - zlínský fenomén

Abstract

J. A. Baťa jako důsledný pokračovatel díla, myšlenek a ideí zakladatele firmy Tomáše Bati se zasloužil ve 30. letech minulého století o největší rozkvět našeho města. Byl propagátorem progresivního stavitelství a moderní funkcionalistické architektury, dnes mezinárodního významu. Řada staveb vzniklých za jeho vedení firmy jsou kulturními památkami a významnou součástí kulturního a historického dědictví naší země. Na stejném principu jako byl postaven průmyslový Zlín, vznikla přičiněním J. A. Bati po světě řada měst s charakteristicky zlínským urbanismem a architekturou.

J. A. Baťa, as a continuing force for the work, thoughts and ideals of the founder of the company, Tomáš Baťa, served to create the greatest flourishing of our city in the 1930s. He promoted progressive construction and modern, functionalist architecture, which today is of significant international importance. Many structures built during his years leading the company are today cultural heritage sites and form a meaningful part of the cultural and historical heritage of our country. On the same principles as industrial Zlín was built, there arose around the world a number of cities with characteristic Zlín urbanism and architecture thanks to the endeavors of J. A. Baťa.
