Bakalářská práce "Epidemiologie nadváhy a obezity ve vybraných zemích světa" se zabývá prevalencí nadváhy a obezity u populací žijících ve vybraných zemích na všech kontinentech. V textu práce jsou definovány pojmy nadváha a obezita. Je zde podána stručná charakteristika vybraných klinických ukazatelů obezity a nadváhy a popsány způsoby jejich posuzování. Pozornost je věnována také etiopatogenezi nadváhy a obezity. Stručně jsou popsány zdravotní, sociální a ekonomické dopady nadměrné tělesné hmotnosti na obézní jedince a na celou společnost. Podstatná část práce shrnuje data o prevalenci obezity u populací žijících v zemích Evropské unie a ve vybraných zemích na ostatních kontinentech. |

The bachelor's thesis "Epidemiology of overweight and obesity in selected countries of the world" deals with the prevalence of overweight and obesity in populations living in select countries on all continents. In the thesis the terms overweight and obesity are defined. There is also a brief description of selected clinical signs of obesity and overweight and methods for their assessment. Attention is also paid to etiology and pathogenesis of overweight and obesity. The health, social and economic consequences of excessive body weight on the obese patients and the whole society are briefly described too. A substantial part of the bachelor's thesis summarizes data on the prevalence of obesity in populations living in the European Union countries and selected countries in other continents. |
